KATS ANNOUNCE TELEVISION BROADCAST ANNOUNCERS

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The Nashville Kats have named three veteran broadcasters to man the booth for their home television game broadcasts this season.

Four of the seven Kats’ local broadcasts of home games will be streamed via Home Team Network at HomeTeamSports.com and at AF1.com – the official website of Arena Football One. Three other home games have been tabbed as the AF1 VICE TV National Game of the Week.

Manning the booth for the season opener on HTN on Friday, April 17 at 7 p.m. versus the Michigan Arsenal at F&M Bank in Clarksville will be George Plaster on play-by-play and Big Joe Dubin on commentary. Chase McCabe takes over play-by-duties on the other home games on HTN, including May 9 versus Oregon, June 13 versus Minnesota and June 27 versus Beaumont with all three games having a 4 p.m. CDT kickoff.

Legendary announcer Eli Gold and Alabama football legend Bobby Humphrey are handling play-by-play and commentary duties, respectively, on the AF1 Vice National Game of the Week broadcast. Three Kats home games – April 25 versus Washington, May 16 versus Oceanside and June 20 versus Albany – have been named the AF1 Vice National Game of the Week.

George Plaster is considered the dean of Nashville sports talk and previously handled play-by-play duties for Vanderbilt football and basketball, Georgia Tech, Belmont and Memphis. His daily “The George Plaster Show” airs weekdays from 3-5 p.m. on ESPN Radio 94.9 The Fan and will originate Friday from F&M Bank Arena.

McCabe and Dubin are co-hosts of “The Chase McCabe & Big Joe Show” that airs weekdays from noon-3 p.m. on 102.5 The Game in Nashville.

Dubin is a multi-Emmy award-winning television broadcaster with various stints in a variety of roles on three Nashville television stations, an author and color commentator on MTSU football broadcasts.

A hometown original like Dubin, McCabe joined 102.5 The Game as an intern in 2011 and worked his way into becoming the station’s Program Director and Director of Operations. Dubin and McCabe broadcast the Arena Crown championship game last season from Albany.

The Kats compete in Arena Football One (AF1) and will play all seven regular-season home games plus playoff home games at F&M Bank Arena in Clarksville, Tenn.

Last season, the Kats went 7-5 and advanced to the AF1 Arena Crown championship game before falling 60-57 to the Albany Firebirds. AF1 returns for its second season with the following franchises – Nashville Kats, Michigan Arsenal, Albany Firebirds, Kentucky Barrels, Beaumont Renegades, Washington Wolfpack, Oceanside Bombers, Oregon Lightning and Minnesota Monsters. Fisher also serves as Commissioner of AF1.
