KATS QUARTERBACK KULKA NAMED AF1 OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK FOR WEEK 5

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Nashville Kats quarterback Tyler Kulka has been named the AF1 Offensive Player of the Week for Week 5.

In the Kats’ 64-21 home win last Saturday over the Oregon Lightning, Kulka completed 15 of 21 passes for 205 yards and six touchdowns. 

A Lawrence Tech product, Kulka in four games has completed 64 of 98 passes (65 percent) for 21 touchdowns with only one interception. He is averaging 232 passing yards per game.

The Kats are off to a 3-1 start and return home Saturday for a 4 p.m. matchup at F&M Bank Arena in downtown Clarksville versus the Oceanside Bombers. All AF1 games can be watched at TheAF1.com – the league’s official website – and on the league’s YouTube channel. 

In last Saturday’s win, wide receiver Charles Hall IV led the way with three touchdowns on five receptions to go with 50 yards receiving. Also catching TD passes versus the Lightning were BK Smith Jr, Jordan Gandy, Desmond Maxwell and offensive lineman Payton Muljo, his second of the season.

For the season, the Kats have been led in receiving by wide receiver Malik Honeycutt with 26 catches for 328 yards and six touchdowns, followed by Smith with 17 catches for 211 yards and three TDs and Jordan Gandy with 14 catches for 255 yards and three scores. 

Earlier this season, Kulka was named AF1 Co-Offensive Player of the Week for Week 2, sharing the honor with his brother – Albany Firebirds quarterback Josh Kulka.
