KATS LAND THREE HOME AF1 “GAME OF THE WEEK” ON VICE TV
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Three Nashville Kats home games this season have been tabbed as the AF1 VICE National Game of the Week.
The announcement came Thursday as AF1 revealed renewal and expansion of its broadcast partnership with VICE TV, making the network home of the AF1 VICE National Game of the Week throughout both the regular season and postseason.
“We are extremely excited to continue to grow our partnership with VICE TV,” AF1 commissioner and Kats president Jeff Fisher said. “This Game of the Week format allows us to highlight our top matchups, star players, and the unique brand of football that makes the AF1 so entertaining for fans.”
The three Kats’ home games to be featured as the Vice National Game of the Week include Saturday, April 25 versus Washington; Saturday, May 16 versus Oceanside; and Saturday, June 20 versus Albany. All three games have a 4 p.m. CDT kickoff.
“It is exciting to know that an international audience will be able to see the special things happening with the Kats at our home, F&M Bank Arena in Clarksville,” Kats managing partner Jeff Jarrett said. “Like all our home games, we expect an exciting atmosphere in and around the arena that day, highlighted by the Vice National Game of the Week.”
The Kats will also be featured on the Vice National Game of the Week when they play Saturday, July 11 at Albany. In all, there will be 18 AF1 featured matchups that will air throughout the regular season along with all post season and ArenaCrown championship game action.
The Kats compete in Arena Football One (AF1) and will play all seven regular-season home games plus playoff home games at F&M Bank Arena in Clarksville, Tenn. The season opens at home on Friday, April 17 at 7 p.m. versus the Michigan Arsenal.
The first AF1 VICE National Game of the Week will kick off on Saturday, April 11 at 6 p.m. EDT and feature the Minnesota Monsters traveling to face the defending Arena Crown champions, the Albany Firebirds.
“AF1 on VICE TV will bring football fans exactly what they need this spring and summer -- fast, explosive and entertaining football every weekend from April until August,” said Josh Oakley of VICE Sports.
Last season, the Kats went 7-5 and advanced to the AF1 Arena Crown championship game before falling 60-57 to the Albany Firebirds. AF1 returns for its second season with the following franchises – Nashville Kats, Michigan Arsenal, Albany Firebirds, Kentucky Barrels, Beaumont Renegades, Washington Wolfpack, Oceanside Bombers, Oregon Lightning and Minnesota Monsters. Fisher also serves as Commissioner of AF1.
