KATS VS FIREBIRDS WATCH PARTY

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The Nashville Kats and Albany Firebirds square off Saturday in Albany in the final regular-season game for both teams.

And the stakes are huge with the Arena Football One (1) No. 1 overall seeding on the line heading into the league playoffs that start July 25-26.

The game is the VICE TV National Game of the Week and will be shown on Sunday at 10 a.m. Saturday, there is a Kats Watch Party at Skyline 500 Bar at Shelby’s Trio in downtown Clarksville starting at 5:30.

All AF1 games this season – including Saturday’s Kats-Firebirds games -- can be watched at TheAF1.com — the league’s official website – and at the league’s YouTube channel and Home Team Network.

In conjunction with Michael Waltrip Brewing, the “Kats Watch Party” will be held at Skyline 500 Bar – part of Shelby’s Trio in downtown Clarksville across from the main entrance to F&M Bank Arena, home of the Kats.

“We are excited at Skyline 500 Bar and Shelby’s Trio to host our second of many Kats Watch Parties,” Shelby’s Trio general manager Amanda Styles said. “We had a great time at the watch party last month and plan on throwing another big party Saturday with giveaways and door prizes and, of course, cheer the Kats to victory in this huge game against the Firebirds.”

Michael Waltrip, through Waltrip Brands and Michael Waltrip Brewing, has officially joined the ownership group of the Nashville Kats, expanding the company’s footprint across sports, entertainment and fan engagement.

Skyline 500 Bar and Joe’s Garage at Shelby’s Trio are signature venues for Michael Waltrip Brewing. Shelby’s Trio is located at 304 North 2nd Street.

“We had so much fun at Skyline 500 Bar last time cheering the Kats to victory and are expecting another great turnout Saturday to do just the same,” Kats Chief Operating Officer & Partner Greg Pogue said. “We already know we are going to have a home semifinal playoff game the first weekend in August and then, when we win that, hopefully will host the Arena Crown championship game in Clarksville.”

Immediately following the Kats Watch Party, Shelby’s Trio will present its regular “Skyline on 500 Bar” music series featuring No. 1 hit song writers and acclaimed artists. Saturday will feature local singer & songwriter Joel McNulty.

The Kats defeated the Firebirds 78-69 at home on June 20. Should the Kats beat the Firebirds (9-2) again on Saturday, they will be the No. 1 overall seed in the playoffs.

Should Albany win, that’s when several layers of tiebreaker scenarios come into play. After head-to-head play with the teams splitting the regular season games, the tiebreaker then goes to points differential between the teams in their contests against each other.

The Kats head into the game up by nine points on the Firebirds. Meaning, Albany would need to beat the Kats by at least 10 points to gain the No. 1 seed.

Should Albany win by nine points, the tiebreaker goes to overall points scored in league play and the Kats have a huge advantage by outscoring the Firebirds by 70 points thus far this season. If they win by eight points or less, the Kats receive the No. 1 seed.
