MONTGOMERY COUNTY MAYOR GOLDENTO PRESENT GAME BALL
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Montgomery County Mayor Wes Golden has been tabbed to be the official game ball presenter at the outset of the Nashville Kats’ home game Saturday.
In pregame festivities before the Kats kick off their second home game of the season versus the Washington Wolfpack at 4 p.m. at F&M Bank Arena, Golden will deliver the official game ball at midfield to Kats Kaptain of the Week – Kats President and Partner Jeff Fisher – before the official coin flip to start the game.
“The leadership and guidance and friendship of Mayor Golden and all the leadership of Montgomery County and Clarksville have been instrumental in the Kats playing all their home games this season at F&M Bank Arena,” Fisher said. “Everyone in Montgomery County and Clarksville has been so receptive and opened their arms to help make Clarksville the home of the Kats. This is our way of showing our appreciation.”
F&M Bank Arena is owned by Montgomery County and operated by the Nashville Predators and SabertoothSports and Entertainment.
“The citizens of Montgomery County are so excited to have the Kats call Clarksville home,” Golden said. “By what we have already seen at the four Kats’ home games at F&M Bank Arena, there is no doubt the Kats will be a winning franchise both on and off the field. Working with Coach Fisher and (Kats managing partner) Jeff Jarrett only adds to my confidence about the long-term success of the Kats in our county and city.”
Two seasons ago, the Kats played one regular-season home game at F&M Bank Arena followed by two games there last season – one regular season and one playoff game. The Kats will play all seven home games plus playoff games at F&M Bank Arena this season.
The Kats return to action at home Saturday at 4 p.m. versus the Washington Wolfpack at F&M Bank Arena in downtown Clarksville. The game is the AF1 VICE National Game of the Week and can also be streamed at TheAF1.com – the league’s official website.
Last season, the Kats went 7-5 and advanced to the AF1 Arena Crown championship game before falling 60-57 to the Albany Firebirds. AF1 returns for its second season with the following franchises – Nashville Kats, Michigan Arsenal, Albany Firebirds, Kentucky Barrels, Beaumont Renegades, Washington Wolfpack, Oceanside Bombers, Oregon Lightning and Minnesota Monsters. Fisher also serves as Commissioner of AF1.
